Introducing Joyce Wilson
Joyce Wilson has cared for more than 100 Huntsville children in her home in the past 23 years. She is also founder of the annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Show at the Huntsville Centennial Centre, a fundraiser for diabetes research and education, which she has been running since 1999.

Introducing Debbie Kirwin
Debbie Kirwin moved to Huntsville four years ago with her husband Ross. Since a car accident 16 years ago, she has used a wheelchair to get around. Debbie sits on the town and district accessibility advisory committees and was active on the bid and organizing committees for the 2006 Paralympic Games in Huntsville.

Introducing Joseph Reijnen
Joseph Reijnen is the owner of Muskoka Jewellery Design on Main Street in Huntsville. After completing one apprenticeship in Holland and another in Germany and emerging as a master silversmith, he decided to come to Canada in 1976. He and his family moved to Huntsville in 1988.

Introducing Kay Shutt
Now 86, Kay Shutt came to Canada as a war bride. After being treated for two kinds of cancer in the 1970s, Kay became an active volunteer with the Huntsville chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society, a group that still benefits from her time and energy.

Introducing Freda Healey
Freda Healey is an active member of the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Ladies’ Auxiliary. She witnessed firsthand the importance of a good hospital when her husband was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2004, and she signed on as a volunteer about six months after his death.
